Privacy Policy

Vibic is a private place to keep the moments and places you want to remember, and to share them with the people you choose. The Vibic app and the vibic.app website are operated by Vibic Labs LLC ("Vibic," "we," "us"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

The short version: your Vibes are private by default, we don't sell your data, we don't show ads, and we don't track you across other apps. We collect what we need to run Vibic and nothing more.

What we collect

Account information. When you sign in with Google or Apple, or create an account with an email and password, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture (if your sign-in provider shares one). If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email," we receive the private relay address Apple generates instead of your real one.

Your content. The photos you upload, and the titles, descriptions, tags, and places you add to your Vibes and Moments.

Photo metadata. When you add a photo, we read its embedded metadata (EXIF), including the date it was taken and, if present, the location where it was taken. We use this to place your Moments on your map and timeline. This only happens for photos you choose to add to Vibic.

Location. If you allow location access, we use your device's location to show where you are on the map and help you pin nearby places. We ask for this permission only when you use a feature that needs it, and you can withdraw it any time in your device settings.

Device and app information. Your device platform and OS version, the app version you're running, and a push notification token so we can deliver notifications you've enabled.

Usage and diagnostics. We collect analytics events (like which screens are used and which buttons are tapped) and crash reports so we can find problems and improve the app. Crash and performance data is not linked to your identity.

We do not collect your contacts, your camera roll as a whole (only photos you pick), or your location in the background.

How we use it

• To run Vibic: store and display your photos and Vibes, build your map, and deliver the features you use.
• To share your content with the people you've chosen, according to the privacy setting on each Vibe.
• To send push notifications you've enabled (like activity on a shared Vibe).
• To understand how Vibic is used, fix crashes, and make the app better.
• To keep Vibic safe: preventing abuse and enforcing our Terms of Service.

We do not sell your personal information, use it for advertising, or use your photos to train AI models.

Who can see your content

You decide. Every Vibe has a privacy setting:

• Private (the default): only you.
• Circle / Custom: only the specific people you invite.
• Public: visible to other Vibic users, including in the Explore feed and map.

Changing a Vibe back to private removes it from others' view going forward.

Who we share data with

Service providers that help us run Vibic. These providers process data on our behalf and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes:

• Google Firebase - analytics, crash reporting, push notifications, and remote configuration.
• Google Maps - maps and place lookup (geocoding).
• Google and Apple sign-in - authentication.
• Cloud storage - your photos are stored in secure cloud object storage operated by our hosting providers.

If the law requires it. We may disclose information when we believe in good faith it's required by law, or necessary to protect the rights, safety, or property of Vibic or its users.

If Vibic changes hands. If we're involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that deal. We'd notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.

That's the whole list. No data brokers, no advertisers.

How long we keep it

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (Settings → Delete Account in the app), your photos, Vibes, and associated metadata are permanently deleted from our servers. Copies may persist in encrypted backups for a limited period before being purged.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit (HTTPS/TLS). Sign-in uses Google and Apple OAuth; authentication tokens are stored in your device's secure storage. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your information with industry-standard measures.

Children

Vibic is not directed to children under 13, and you may not use Vibic if you are under 13. If we learn we've collected personal information from a child under 13, we'll delete it.

Your rights and choices

• Access and update: you can see and edit your content and profile in the app.
• Delete: you can delete individual photos, Moments, and Vibes any time, or delete your entire account in Settings.
• Permissions: photo and location access are requested only when needed and can be revoked in your device settings.
• Push notifications: can be turned off in your device settings.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (such as data portability or the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority). To exercise any right, or ask us anything about your data, email [email protected].

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we'll notify you in the app or by email before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top always tells you when this policy last changed.
